Chicken Curry - Dhaba Style !

          



Do you call it chicken curry or curry chicken

😎They are two different dishes here. 

Curry chicken is larger pieces with curry seasoning, usually sautéed or baked. Chicken curry is curry gravy with smaller pieces of chicken and usually some vegetables, at least onions & peppers.

Let's begin with our Yum ... Dhaba Chicken Curry !

  • Heat a kadhai and add 3-4 spoons of oil
  • Add green chilies (3-4 slit), jeera & dried red chilies (3-4)
  • Sauté for 1-2 minutes 

Add 4 (big size) finely chopped onions 

To make the masala paste - mix turmeric (1/2 teaspoon), red chili powder (1 teaspoon), garam masala (1/2 teaspoon) and coriander powder (1 teaspoon) with water.


Add generous amount of finely chopped ginger and garlic

Add some salt and sauté till the onions and ginger garlic are beautifully caramelized

Add the masala paste to the brown onions

Add some fresh coriander leaves

Time to add some proteins to the cooked masala  !

Mix it really well and cook on high flame for 4-5 minutes

Add Kashmiri Mirch for some beautiful color to our curry !

Continue cooking till the oil is separated

For the gravy, add tomato puree 

Add some water and cover to cook, until done.

Once the chicken is cooked, add crushed Kasuri Methi and cook for 1-2 minutes more
